Kazakhstan will not introduce a compulsory medical insurance

Aida Kurmangaliyeva, Vice-Minister of Health said that Kazakhstan in the nearest future will not introduce a compulsory medical insurance during the meeting of the Committee on Social and Cultural Development of Majilis held on 25 September.

Pursuant to Aida Kurmangaliyeva, the health care system in Kazakhstan is not ready for introduction of compulsory medical insurance. And this conclusion was supported by members of the Committee chaired by Karim Massimov.

“We had a talk with the representatives of the World Bank and the representatives aware of the health care system in Kazakhstan. There is an opinion that the introduction of the medical insurance system in Kazakhstan in the nearest future is impractical. It would be better to improve the system of voluntary medical insurance”, said Aida Kurmangaliyeva.
